The Norridge Orioles were formed in the CMBA in 2015. Manager Bill Balatsos and friends formed the team to bring baseball back to their childhood town of Norridge. The heart of the Norridge Orioles is their Core 4: Bill and Tom Balatsos, Christian Avis, and Brian "Chief" Costello. The Orioles had a ton of unprecedented success in their 7 years in the CMBA including making the playoffs every year, making back-to-back championship appearances in 2016 & 2017, and winning it all in 2017.
The Norridge Orioles were never lacking talent as their players won multiple awards in the CMBA. 2B/EH Brian Costello was the MVP runner up in 2019 and was the World Series MVP in 2017. P Bill Balatsos won back-to-back Cy Young awards in 2019 and 2020. One of the newest Birds, OF Michael Vega, actually was the one to beat out Chief for the MVP in 2019. Honestly, the Birds would probably have more hardware as well if the CMBA voting was done fairly every year too!
2022 brings a year of change for the Norridge Orioles in many ways. After years of contemplation, the Norridge Orioles are joining the MSL and are excited for the new challenges to come. The Norridge Orioles are actually leaving that name in the CMBA as well and will now be the Vipers in the MSL. The Vipers are looking forward to many years of quality baseball and creating their own legacy in the MSL!
